Benefits of Yoga Print E-mail

I thought that I was really too old to begin practicing yoga, but apparently that is not the case.  You are never too old to get the benefits that yoga provides, and your body will welcome.Yoga decreases your stress level and calms you down. Your joint flexibility increases.  You can concentrate longer. Yoga stretches your muscles, soft tissues, your ligaments, and your tendons. It lowers your blood pressure and your total cholesterol, and enables your heart to function more efficiently. Your breathing improves, and yoga is known to help people with asthma breathe better.  You are able to sleep much better because you are more relaxed. You will also notice a difference in your mood. Your pulse and respiration levels will go down. Your balance will become better, and your posture will improve. You will see that you have a much longer attention span. Any gastrointestinal upsets will improve. You will also have an increased range of motion, and your joints will become more lubricated. There are obviously so many benefits from practicing yoga that you would be depriving yourself by not giving it a try.  It can do you a world of good, and in this day and age we certainly can benefit from the calming and stress relieving benefits that come about as a result.
